01

Beyond a single Vancouver style

Shared geography does not produce a shared aesthetic. Artists respond to the city through architecture, migration, ecology, memory, material and critique as well as scenic representation.

02

Studios, galleries and public context

An artist’s practice is best understood across multiple forms of evidence: their own record, gallery or museum material, exhibitions, public collections and sustained bodies of work.

How the atlas grows

New profiles are added when a clear Vancouver connection and enough reliable information exist to make the entry useful. Visibility alone is not the criterion.
